The reed switch consists of two magnetic springs with strong magnetism facing each other with a gap at one end and sealed in a glass tube. The glass tube is sealed with inert gas to prevent the activation of contacts. Contact parts are plated with rhodium and surface treated.

 Its action is through the magnetic boundary of coil or permanent magnet, and the magnetic spring generates N pole and S pole. The reed switch operates due to this magnetic attraction. After the magnetic boundary is removed, it is released by elasticity, and the circuit is opened.
